« National Economy | Main | Regulation »

The Parliament should never simply be a rubber stamp, especially when a government intends to place current and future generations into record levels of debt.

Last week the government gagged debate on its stimulus package (mark ii) in the House of Representatives. The federal member for Menzies, Kevin Andrews was one of those MPs who missed out on the opportunity to speak.  Fortunately Mr Andrews has posted on his website the speech he would have delivered to the house if the government had allowed democracy to run its course.

Agitate particularly concurs with Mr Andrews observation that ‘government spending does not create prosperity. If it did, the Soviet Union would have won the cold war.
